Growth Condition
The ideal rainfall for the growth of this plant is more than 3,000 mm/year.
In full sun without shade. Shade will reduce leaf extract levels.
The state of the air temperature is good for the growth of this plant is hot to moderate.
This plant can easily grow on agricultural land, for production, it is better to choose loose, fertile soil, containing lots of humus/organic matter with good water and air management. Andosol and Latosol soils are very good for cat whiskers cultivation.
Optimum height of cat’s whiskers plant 500 – 1,200 m dpl.

Wet or dry cat whiskers leaves are used as medicinal ingredients. In Indonesia the dried leaves are used (simplicia) as a drug that facilitates urinary excretion (diuretic) while in India it is used to treat rheumatism. People use cat’s whiskers as traditional medicine as an effort to cure gout coughs, colds and constipation. Besides, the leaves of this plant are also useful for the treatment of kidney inflammation, kidney stones, diabetes, albuminuria, and syphilis.
